Biography

The Port Arthur, Texas native was a three-time All-American during her four years in Berkeley, twice during indoor season and once during outdoor. McPherson remains the Cal indoor record-holder in the high jump (6-0.00) and still sits in third place on the Cal all-time list (6-0.50). She won conference titles in the MPSF and Pac-10 and earned three U.S. national titles (two indoor, one outdoor) after graduating. Rio will mark her first time as an Olympian, earning her spot after finishing third at the U.S. Olympic Trials.
