Biography

Cross Country: Competed in the first three meets of the season...came in fourth (26:21) at the San Francisco Invitational...recorded his best time of the campaign at the Stanford Invitational (25:45).

High School: Set the Oakland High School record in the 3200 meters...the Oakland Athletic League champion in the 3200 in 2007 and the 1600 in 2006...helped his high school cross country team win the league championships three years in a row (2003-05)...four-time state qualifier in cross country and a two-time state qualifier in track.

Personal: Born in Oakland, Calif....parents are Mi Koon and Sue Cheng...has two brothers currently attending Cal and a sister...also was a web site assistant for the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology at Cal last fall...undeclared major.
