Biography

Junior (2007): In the 1500 meters at the California Collegiate Challenge, clocked in with a new PR of 4:46.48...also PRed in the 10,000 meters at the Stanford Invitational with a time of 35:11.07...earned a time of 10:26.63 in the 3000-meter race at the Jim Click Shootout...in the 5000 meters at the Pac-10 championships, clocked in at 17:41.49.

Sophomore (2006): During outdoors, ran Cal's best time and a lifetime-best of 35:11.07 in the 10,000 meters at the Stanford Invitational...set a lifetime-best and Cal indoor-record 16:52.66 (fifth place) in the 5,000 and a lifetime-best 9:39.35 (11th) in the 3,000 meters at the MPSF Indoor championships...selected MPSF academic all-conference.

Freshman (2005): Ran a season-best time in the 5,000 (18:07.52) at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational...clocked her season-best 3,000-meter time of 10:27.90 at the Bay Area Blast Off.

Cross Country: In 2007, paced the Bears at the Stanford Invitational and the Pre-NCAA meet...claimed eighth place (18:23) at the San Francisco Invitational and 12th place (21:17) at the Stanford Invitational...in 2006, recorded a 22:24.69 (33rd place) at the NCAA West Regional...took 26th place (21:35.57) at the Pac-10 championships...ran the Cal women's top times in the Aggie Open (18:13.70, 2nd place), Stanford Invitational (21:12, 13th) and Chile Pepper Invitational (21:28.2, 38th)...named MPSF academic all-conference...in 2005, Yau had a season-best time of 18:35 at the Aggie Open, in which she finished fifth...was the Bears' top finisher at the Pac-10 championships, in which she placed 27th with a time of 22:04...finished 41st (21:33.0) at the NCAA West Regional.

High School: Yau competed at Miramonte High School, where she was the team captain in 2004...awarded Most Inspirational in 2004...set personal records of 5:18 in the 1600 and 11:24 in the 3200...lettered in tennis and cross country...was the tennis team MVP her sophomore, junior and senior years...led her tennis team to CIF Team Championship in 2003...was the cross country team captain in 2004...led her team to Division III State championships in 2004.
