BERKELEY - The No. 1/2 California softball team was firing on all cylinders as the Golden Bears steamrolled UC Davis 11-3 on Wednesday afternoon. The Bears worked a trio of Aggie pitchers for 11 runs on 12 hits, including a grand slam by Breana Kostreba, a solo homer from Danielle Henderson and Victoria Jones' game-ending three-run shot.

Cal improves to 16-0 overall and 1-0 within the friendly confines of Levine-Fricke Field while UC Davis falls to 6-15.

The Bears jumped on the Aggies early, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first thanks to Kostreba's bases-loaded homer. Already up 8-3 in the bottom of the sixth, Jones cleared the wall in left with a three-run shot to end the game early.

Jamia Reid paced the Bears with three hits while Kostreba's grand slam drove in the game-high four runs. Both Jones and Danielle Henderson chipped in two hits apiece.

Jolene Henderson pitched 5.1 innings of perfect ball, striking out seventh en route to her 10th win of the year. Arianna Erceg pitched part of the top of the fifth, fanning one.

Jessica Thweatt lasted two innings - in which she allowed five earned runs on five hits and three walks - before Justine Vela entered. Vela pitched 1.0 innings (4 hits, 1 earned run) and Melanie Russell closed out the final 2.1 innings (3 hits, three earned runs, three strikeouts).

Bottom of the First - UCD 0, Cal 4:

With the bases loaded and one away, Kostreba nailed the fence behind the right-field wall for her first career grand slam. Along with Kostreba, Jamia Reid (bunt single), Valerie Arioto (walk) and Jace Williams (error at short) all scored.

Bottom of the Second - UCD 0, Cal 6:

With a grounder to short, Williams drove in Echavarria from third and an errant throw from short plated Ashley Decker from second.

Bottom of the Third - UCD 0, Cal 7:

Danielle Henderson cleared two fences, sending the ball over left field and into the parking lot for her sixth homer of the year.

Bottom of the Fourth - UCD 0, Cal 8:

Jamia Reid drove in Frani Echavarria with a single to left.

Top of the Fifth - UCD 3, Cal 8:

With their first and only three hits of the game, the Aggies scored three runs. Kylie Fan, Kelly Zboralske and Cassandra Ginnis

Bottom of the Sixth - UCD 3, Cal 11:

With Alex Robben at second (single) and Lindsey Ziegenhirt at first (fielder's choice), Jones went long to left to end the game.
