Both the men and women swept the podium spots in the 800m. The event that Cal's director of track & field has coached the most came through in his final home meet. On the men's side. Benjamin Micallef won with a personal best of 1:50.90. Moises Medrano ran 1:50.97 as he tried to chase Micallef down over the final 50m, but he finished in second. Ellis Newton took third place with a time of 1:51.59 to set a PR.

Cal's trio of 800m runners all set season-best times on the women's side as they took the top three spots. Rebecca Croft won the race with a time of 2:06.44 while Jordyn Colter took second in 2:07.61. Mina Angler rounded out the team with a 2:07.62 mark. Those three and Jackie Chandler helped the Bears win the 4x400m relay as they ran 3:47.87.

Ā
The Bears won both of the short hurdles races. Deshae Wise won the women's 100m hurdles with a time of 13.60, which was just off her career best of 13.59.
