Biography

College Success

  • Capped his Cal career with a trip to the 2016 NCAA Championships where he scored for the Bears in the 200 backstroke.
  • Placed fifth in the "B" final of the 200 back at the 2016 NCAA Championships to score four points for the team. Stopped the clock in a season-best 1:40.54 in the event.
  • Also competed in the 100 back at the 2016 NCAA Championships, recording a time of 46.54 that was good for third-fastest on the team.
  • Competed in the 100 and 200 backstroke throughout the 2014-15 season.
  • Scored eight points for the Bears at the 2015 Big Swim against Stanford, placing second behind Ryan Murphy in both the 100 and 200 backstroke.
  • Transfer from Columbia who was the 2012 Ivy League champion in the 200 back.
  • Was first-team All-Ivy League as a freshman.

High School Success

  • At Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose was school record-holder in the 100 back and 100 fly.
