Albert played in eight games at Cal all as a backup cornerback and on special teams as a 2015 junior and contributed seven tackles but did not play as a 2016 senior. Albert transferred to Cal after earning All-American honors as a 2014 sophomore at Diablo Valley College and was two-time All-Bay League selection who played for a pair of teams at Diablo Valley College as a sophomore and 2013 freshman that reached bowl games to extend the school’s string to five in a row. Albert earned preseason and midseason All-American honors as well as All-Bay League recognition in his second season as a starter during his sophomore campaign when he helped the Vikings to a 7-4 overall record. Albert was also an All-Mid-Empire Conference selection as a freshman. He prepped locally at Oakland Tech High School where famous Cal alum and former NFL standout Marshawn Lynch attended high school.
