Webb played one season at Cal as a 2016 senior as a graduate transfer from Texas Tech and was honored as a semifinalist for the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award and Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award while picking an honorable mention All-Pac-12 selection. He also made the cut to the final 15 for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award® and was on watch lists for the Maxwell Award and the Manning Award. Webb started all 12 games in his lone season at Cal as a senior and completed 382-of-620 passes (61.6%) for 4,295 yards with 37 passing touchdowns and 12 interceptions for a 135.63 passing efficiency rating. He ranked among the nation’s leaders in nearly every passing category including passing yards per game (357.9 ypg), passing attempts (2nd), completions per game (3rd, 31.83 cpg), points responsible for per game (3rd, 21.7 ppg), completions (4th), total offense (4th, 348.8 ypg), passing yards (6th), total plays (6th), passing touchdowns (T8th) and points responsible for (260, 8th). He was also the Pac-12's leader passing yards per game (357.9 ypg) and total offense, while he set Cal single-season records for passing attempts, completions and total plays. He also equaled single-season school marks for most 300-yard passing games (10) and touchdowns responsible for (43) with his 37 in the air plus another six on the ground that also tied for the most ever by a Cal quarterback. Including his three seasons at Texas Tech (2013-15), he combined to complete 841-of-1367 (61.5%) passes for 9,852 yards with 83 touchdown passes and 34 interceptions over 35 games and 26 starts.

After Cal
• Selected by the New York Giants in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft with the No. 87 pick overall to make Cal only the second school to ever have quarterbacks selected in the first three rounds of back-to-back NFL Drafts with Jared Goff the No. 1 overall selection in 2016 by the Los Angeles Rams
• Participated at Cal’s 2017 Pro Day and had an impressive hour-plus throwing session of over 90 plays in the rain and wind
• Participated at the 2017 NFL Combine and was among the top quarterbacks at the event in the vertical jump (3rd, 33'0"), 3 cone drill (3rd, 4.21), 40-yard dash (5th, 4.79) and broad jump (5th, 9'10")
• Named MVP at the 2017 Reese's Senior Bowl after completing 11-of-16 passes for 165 yards and one touchdown while leading the South to scores on each of the three drives he played in a 16-15 victory over the North
