Gamble did not play in his first season as a true freshman at Cal in 2016 but is looking to make his collegiate debut in 2017 and is listed in the No. 3 position at one wide receiver spot on the preseason depth chart. Gamble did participate in the 2017 spring game and made one catch for 25 yards. He was a two-way starter at wide receiver and defensive end as a prep for St. Anthony’s High School during his three varsity seasons playing on teams that combined for a 24-11 overall record and made the playoffs each of the three campaigns. He had his biggest season on offense as a 2015 senior when he totaled 67 catches for 1,136 yards receiving and made eight touchdown grabs to earn several honors including first-team All-State Small Schools recognition from Cal-Hi Sports. He had a big season on defense as a 2014 junior with career highs of 58 tackles and 13.0 tackles for loss as well as a career-high-tying 9.0 sacks for a team that finished 11-2 overall and reached the semifinals of the Southern Section East Valley Division playoffs.

• Put up his top numbers on defense as a junior with career highs of 58 tackles, 13.0 tackles for loss and a career-high-tying 9.0 sacks (career high -33 yards) as well as seven quarterback hurries, while adding 15 receptions for 284 yards receiving and five touchdown grabs on offense for a team that finished 11-2 overall, 4-0 in conference action to win a Santa Fe League title and reached the semifinals of the section playoffs
• Saw limited action during his 2013 sophomore season with one catch for five yards and three tackles in three games played for a team that was 7-4 overall and reached the first round of the section playoffs
• Single-game career highs on offense included 10 receptions twice against Woodrow Wilson and St. Monica, 155 yards receiving against Bishop Montgomery, two touchdown receptions vs. Vasquez and Woodrow Wilson, and 160 all-purpose yards against Vasquez, all as a senior when he recorded seven games of 100 or more receiving yards including five of his last six
• Had single-game highs on defense as a senior with six quarterback hurries against Vasquez, 3.0 sacks and -9 sack yards vs. Marina, and one interception against Woodrow Wilson, as well as during his junior season with nine tackles against Woodrow Wilson, 4.0 tackles for loss vs. Vasquez and two passes deflected vs. Valley Christian, and spanning both his junior and senior seasons with a single fumble recovery on three occasions and single forced fumble twice
• Wore No. 6 for his junior and senior seasons, while he was No. 29 as a sophomore
