Hansen racked up some of the top receiving numbers in the nation during a breakout 2016 junior season and was a first-team All-Pac-12 selection by Associated Press, Athlon Sports, ESPN.com and Phil Steele, as well as a second-team All-Pac-12 pick of the league's coaches. Hansen ranked third in the country as a junior in per-game receptions (9.2) and fourth in receiving yards (124.9), while he was also 12th nationally in total receptions (92), 17th in receiving yards (1,249) and tied for 22nd in touchdown receptions (11) despite missing two contests due to injury and finishing with 10 games played and nine starts. In addition, Hansen led the Pac-12 in both per-game and total receptions and receiving yards while he was fourth in the conference in touchdown catches. His total receptions and receiving yards both also rank third on Cal’s all-time single-season list. Hansen exploded onto the national scene early in the 2016 campaign and earned midseason All-American honors from ESPN and Sports Illustrated as well as ESPN midseason All-Pac-12 recognition. He was also added to the watch list for the Biletnikoff Award during the season and captured the Berkeley Breakfast Club Award as Cal’s most outstanding player in the Big Game against Stanford. Hansen began his Cal career as a walk-on and played two seasons for the Bears as a sophomore and junior in 2015 and 2016 after transferring from Idaho State. Hansen combined for 111 receptions and 1,498 receiving yards with 12 touchdown catches over 20 games and nine starts at Cal after redshirting the 2014 season due to NCAA transfer rules. He also rushed for one two-point conversion reception as a junior to total 74 career points.

• Participated at Cal’s 2017 Pro Day and ran a 4.45 in the 40-yard dash to cut .08 off his time at the 2017 NFL Combine
• Participated at the 2017 NFL Combine and recorded marks of 4.53 in the 40-yard dash, 4.13 in the 20-yard shuttle, 35'0" in the vertical jump, 9'11" in the broad jump and 11 bench press reps of 225 pounds

• Registered 10 catches for 110 yards with one touchdown in game four at Arizona State and had five catches for 98 yards with a career-high-tying two touchdown grabs in game five vs. Utah before being injured in game six at Oregon State when he totaled season lows of four receptions and 16 yards receiving
• Missed two games and nearly a month of action before returning in game nine against Washington and catching five passes for 70 yards with one touchdown grab
• Finished the regular season on a tear with 28 catches for 409 yards and two touchdown receptions over his final three contests at Washington State (11-139), vs. Stanford (7-114-2TD) and vs. UCLA (10-156)
