• Carried the Olympic torch for a section of the relay on its way to the London 2012 Summer Olympics and was selected to do so for his charity work with injured servicemen in the UK, working closely with Lance Bombardier Ben Parkinson who was seriously injured in Afghanistan after being struck by an anti-tank mine
• The first Cal kicker who also played rugby for the Golden Bears since Cal Athletic Hall of Famer Mick Luckhurst in 1979 and 1980 but the latest in a long line of two-sport football and rugby players at Cal
• Became interested in American football after kicking with former Cal and current Oakland Raiders kicker Giorgio Tavecchio
• On track to graduate from Cal in December of 2016 with a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies
